San Siro has two identities. 365 days a year, it is a complex facility that requires maintenance, safety measures, and accessibility; and for a few hours, it is a place that brings together thousands of people around a common goal. Amid this dual nature, the responsibility for managing the facility remains the same.

It is in this context that we have achieved this milestone: ISO 14001 certification for our environmental management system and ISO 45001 certification for occupational health and safety.

ISO 45001 required a systematic assessment of the risks associated with every activity carried out at the facility and the formalization of verification and coordination processes among different companies operating at the same workplace. ISO 14001 has brought the same rigor to environmental management: from the facilities’ energy consumption to the management of waste generated by an event, right down to the maintenance of the playing field. These two certifications are not just a milestone, but a foundation upon which to continue building: the coming months will be dedicated to further consolidating the processes in each of these areas and the tools that support the facility’s safety and sustainability.
